2025 Children’s Day
Sunday, 7 September 2025 saw the skies above Jersey sparkle with excitement as Helping Wings hosted its Young Children’s Day—a special gathering for families and children aged 5–12—and it was nothing short of magical.
Volunteer pilots from Helping Wings offered flights around the island, giving children breathtaking aerial views and memories to last a lifetime.
Down on the tarmac, excitement continued with rides in a vintage potato lorry, expertly driven by John Le Ruez. This nostalgic joyride added a playful, “spud-tacular” twist to the festivities.
The Ports of Jersey Fire Service made an impressive appearance, bringing their fire tender for kids to explore—transforming curious onlookers into budding firefighters—with a guaranteed flare-up of excitement.
Adding ‘pawsitive’ energy to the day, Pets as Therapy dog Otto, accompanied by his human Pippa, brought comfort and warm snuggles—a sweet, calming moment amid a whirlwind of fun.
As the day wound down, Rev. David Grantham, took the spotlight with a magic show. It was a truly spellbinding end to the day.
Every young guest left with more than just memories—they took home a signed certificate, a goodie bag, and hearts full of excitement.
